It is now two months since Naughty Dog has informed us that Uncharted 4 would be entitled to a solo DLC in line with that proposed for The Last of Us. Of course this may seem hasty to talk about additional content while the game n is not even yet available and the American studio makes it clear in a recent interview with Gamespot.
Arne Meyer, who handles communications for Naughty Dog, so give some details on that famous DLC and this is the opportunity to realize that the developers have not yet really floored about that.
I spoke with Neil (Note: Game director on Uncharted 4) there is about a month when it was revealed and we read fan reaction about it. It was interesting because people thought we were perhaps deliberately retain certain elements of the scenario for the needs of DLC or something like that. But Neil said, “I do not have any idea what we will do with it.” We are so busy with the game even now he and I spoke with him and told him we were taking big risks because we have no idea what we’ll do for now with the DLC. We promised to do something of high quality and have an exciting story, and we said that it would also be the latest installment. We will have to answer all these questions at some point, but we do not yet know how.
Indeed, Uncharted 4 will be the conclusion of the saga and therefore, it will have to Naughty Dog is a clever way to add this solo DLC scenario. As The Last of Us Left Behind, he could be an alternative chapter where the player could embody Sam’s brother Nathan Drake, or why not Sully. For now, the studio seems to have the answer. However even though such remarks may seem disturbing, Arne Meyer reassuring stating that each game is treated with the same importance at Naughty Dog but the studio never plan over time. The developers decided to make a game only if they have a story to tell and have the real will to do so.
Uncharted 4 will be available March 18, 2016 exclusively on PS4
